COLLEGE MENTAL HEALTH

SUPPORT during a pivotal time

The transition away from home and into college comes with challenges and opportunities - you don't have to go it alone!  I'm available to help you explore thoughts, feelings, and fears related to entering a different type of academic environment, forging new social connections, and leaving home.  Once at school, therapy can provide a safe space to help you navigate complicated relationship dynamics, identity issues, or academic stress.  It can also be a useful support in managing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and the transition out of college and into whatever next steps you take.
I worked in independent school environments for almost 20 years before becoming a therapist.  Additionally, I completed my clinical training and worked for several years in  Swarthmore College's Counseling and Psychological Services Center.  I love working with young adults at this stage of life and bring a holistic and personalized approach to everyone I work with.  Areas of focus include:
Picture
  • social media pressure
  • finding one's friend group
  • sorting through conflict
  • engaging in healthy romantic relationships
  • minimizing risky behaviors
  • managing academic and family pressure
  • exploring issues of identity
  • learning to set boundaries
  • establishing healthy habits

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
